Hello, families!!

As I told you in the last blog post, this term we have been talking about the body parts. We started before Easter singing the famous song Head, shoulders, knees and toes by Super Simple Songs.

Then, when they came back from their holidays, I told them a funny story: From head to toe by Eric Carle. With this story, they have learned some different body parts, the name of some animals and also some actions that these animals can do.

Now, I’m going to tell you the story using some pictures we took in the class.

FROM HEAD TO TOE by Eric Carle

Adapted and performed by the group of P3

I am a penguin

and I turn my head.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a giraffe

and I bend my neck.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a buffalo

and I raise my shoulders.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a monkey

and I wave my arms.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a seal

and I clap my hands.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a gorilla

and I thumb my chest.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a cat

and I arch my back.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a crocodile

and I wriggle my hips.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a camel

and I bend my knees.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am a donkey

and I kick my legs.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am an elephant

and I stomp my foot.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

I am I

and I wriggle my toe.

Can you do it?

We can do it!

It was so funny tell this story and make the gestures as the animals of the book. They laughed a lot and they loved it!

They did  more activities related to body parts. For example, they made a face using face parts of a magazine! Look at them working!

And here you have the results!

They also had to match the animals from the story with their action pictures! They surprised me when they saw their faces in an activity sheet! They had to circle the animal and the gesture with the same colour and then say the name of both.

Finally, they sang the song of One little finger by Super Simple Songs.

In fact, they made the video before Easter, at the same time of the other song, but I decided to record it again and I’m sure you will like it so much more. Here, I put both videos together. Please, watch it until the end and you will be able see the consequences of the summer coming, hahaha!

Don’t you think it’s incredible? I loved it and I love them!

I hope I will be able to see them next year, because they are fantastic. They have learned a lot of English and I’m very proud of them.

Happy summer,

Monica
