(Note: this post had to be posted the week of the 5th of November, but we were waiting for some image rights.)

This week, the students in the academy have learnt about a festivity celebrated in Britain: The Bonfire Night!

The 5th of November of 1605, Guy Fawkes and 20 men, tried to blow up the British parliament using barrels of gunpowder in order to kill the Catholic King James I.

They failed and Guy Fawkes was tortured and executed.

Nowadays, every 5th of November British people celebrate it with bonfires and fireworks.

Our students have made a pop-up card in memory of the Gunpowder Plot and they accompanied it by a poem:

“Remember, remember,

the 5th of november.

Gunpowder, treason and plot,

I see no reason why

gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.”
